The John McCulloch Vodka is one of our only clear, unaged, 80-proof spirits. Before the fire of 1918 on the 4th of July, John McCulloch would throw huge parties at his distillery in Owensboro. A favorite event at these gatherings was the mixed drink competition.  

Although he had an abundance of premium aged Mountain Dew, Green River, and his Kentucky Moonshine, a clear spirit like the John McCulloch Vodka was a prerequisite for many of his recipes. Over 140 years later, John and his family have kept the tradition going, with lemon-based mixed drinks now being the most popular at the event. We also continue to offer this clear, unaged vodka so people can enjoy its history with every swig.
